Description : A set of eight arts and crafts mahogany dining chairs, by Arthur Simpson, comprising two carvers and six side chairs, with pierced twin splat backs and upholstered drop-in seats. Arthur W Simpson was a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement. He taught at the Keswick School of Industrial Art as well as making furniture for Charles Voysey, MW Baillie Scott and he trained as a carver with Gillows of Lancaster. Carvers measure: 60 cms wide x 64 cms deep x 107 cms high (23" wide x 25" deep x 42" high)
